Hearts: Overview
Hearts is a card game for 4 players. There are no teams. The aim of the game is for each player to have as few Hearts in his/her tricks as possible and to avoid taking the Queen of Spades.
In the 1st, 2nd and 3rd rounds of the game all of the players select three of their own cards, which they must pass on to the next player. The player with the 2 of Clubs then begins the game by playing this card. The Queen of Spades may not be played in the first round. There are no trumps, but players must follow suit. Once all four players have played their cards, the player, who laid the highest card in the suit originally laid, takes the trick.
Heart cards are worth one negative point each, while the Queen of Spades is worth 13 negative points. The game will be played until there is a winner. If, following the calculation of points, a player has reached or exceeded a total of 50 negative points, the player with the lowest total wins the game. Another round, however, is played if a different player achieved a perfect round, or if there is more than one player level on points.
