Chinchón é um jogo de cartas de 2 a 4 jogadores e é jogado com 40 cartas espanholas. Cada jogador recebe 7 cartas. Ao tirar e soltar as cartas do jogo deve-se formar grupos ou ruas com no mínimo 3 cartas.

Noínicio do jogo será combinado um número máximo de pontos. Os jogadores que ultrapassarem esse número de pontos, serão desclassificados do jogo. Dessa forma, o jogador que permanecer no jogo até o fim é o vencedor.

Para finalizar o jogo, o jogador coloca a carta que deseja soltar virada para baixo sobre a mesa. Dessa maneira os outros jogadores também têm que soltar as suas cartas. As cartas que os jogadores tiverem em mãos serão contadas como pontos ruins. Eles podem porém as colocarem junto as cartas que estão sobre a mesa, caso o jogador que tenha finalizado o jogo não tenha colocado mais de 6 cartas.

How to play

A new game can be started by clicking on the button “New Game”. The player may then define, amongst other things, who may join and how many players will contest the game. The player must also decide how many points the game will be played to (1, 50 or 100). 1 means that only one round will be played (a short game). Alternatively, the player may join a game that has already been opened by another player.

A red exclamation mark signifies that it is the player’s turn, while a green arrow points at the opponent who is making his/her move.

The player’s cards are shown face up on the table. In the middle of the table are two piles of cards: one deck from which cards can be taken and a discard pile. The time remaining for the move is shown to the right of the table, as is the agreed maximum point total and other handy buttons such as “Player Info.” and “Invite”. The game chat is also located here.

To take a card from one of the piles, the player may either double click on the desired card or drag and drop the card into his/her hand. The same applies when discarding a card.

The player has the opportunity to move the cards around in his/her hand. This is possible while other players are taking their turns and can be done by simply dragging and dropping the cards into the desired position. Should a group or run be formed, this will be highlighted by a blue bar. As soon as it is possible for the player to lay his/her cards, the button “Close” is shown on the screen. The cards are laid by clicking on this button.

Should a player exceed the point total set at the beginning of the game, he/she must sit out the remaining rounds. A red X is shown above the nickname of the players who are out of the game.

Rules

Chinchón is a card game for 2-4 players. It is played with 40 Spanish cards (King, Knight, Jack, 1-7). Each player begins with 7 cards and a maximum number of points is agreed upon. Any player who exceeds this limit must sit out the rest of the game. The player whose turn it is must take a card, then discard a card of choice. The aim of the game is to form groups and runs of at least three cards.

When taking a card, the player has two options: a card may be taken from the deck, or the card discarded by the previous player may be taken. Should a player wish to close the game, he/she must lay his/her groups and/or runs on the table. In doing so, the player may only hold one card that does not belong to either a group or a run. Moreover, the value of this card cannot exceed 3 points. As soon as one player lays his/her cards, the other players must lay their own groups and runs. Should one of the other players have more than one card in the hand after laying, this card can be added to the groups and runs laid by his/her opponents. However, this is only possible if the player who closed the game laid 6 cards. If he/she laid 7 cards, the other players may not add their remaining cards to the groups and runs already on the table.

The last player in the game, after all of the other players have exceeded the limit, is the winner.

Points

During the game the cards are worth the following points:

1 – 7: The cards are worth their face value
Jack, Knight and King: 10 points

Each remaining card is counted as negative points.

The player who closes the game is awarded 10 bonus points.

A player who lays a run of 7 cards receives 25 bonus points. If this 7-card run contains no jokers, this is called Chinchón. This combination wins the game.

The “Coin Ace” card is a joker. If this card remains in the hand at the end of a round, it is worth 25 negative points.
