How to play
A new game can be opened by clicking on “New game”. The player must then choose the maximum skill level of his/her opponent. Alternatively, the player may join a game that has already been set up by another player.
The game screen shows four coloured game cards (pink, blue, green and orange). Each of the cards is divided up into five rows of five boxes, each containing a number between 1 and 99. The player’s next move is shown in the display bar between the game cards.
Below the game cards are two number generators, which display the numbers and jokers for each round. To the right is the “Spin” button (a pink button with a circular arrow), which must be pressed to generate the new numbers at the beginning of each round.
Alternatively, the play can select the “Autospin” function, which activates the number generators automatically after each round. This function can be selected by clicking on the “Autospin” button.
There are two types of joker in the game:
1. The "Column Joker":
The Column Joker is shown as an arrow in the number generators. The player can use this joker to mark off any number that is in the column directly above the arrow. It is completely up to the player, which number he/she chooses from the upper or lower game card. To play the joker, the player need only click on the desired number. Once the joker has been played, the arrow in the number generators will remain still (not blinking). The number of Column Jokers varies in each round.
2. The "Free Joker":
At the start of each round, the player has the opportunity to mark off any number of his/her choice (on any of the four game cards) by playing the Free Joker. “Enter your Free Joker” shall appear in the display bar between the cards at the start of each round to prompt the player to select a number. The player receives one Free Joker at the beginning of every round.
The player need only click on a number with a coloured circle around it to mark it. The number will be covered by a yellow point. This also applies when playing the jokers. If 5 numbers in a row are marked off with yellow points (horizontally, diagonally or vertically), stars will appear on the points.
The time that the player has remaining is displayed to the right of the game cards. The player has a total of 15 minutes for each game. The clock counts down continuously from the start of the game. The current points total is displayed below the time limit.
Once the player has completed all 15 rounds, the “Leave” button will be shown to the right of the game cards allowing the player to leave the game. Alternatively, the player may choose to watch his/her opponent by clicking the “Watch” button.
To the far right of the game screen, the opponent’s nickname is displayed in addition to the options “Player Info.”, “New Friend” and “Ignore” as well as the game chat function.
Spin7 is played as a duel. The following rules apply:
- Both players have the same starting position, and receive the same numbers and Column Jokers as each other every round.
- The players need not play at the same time – they can play consecutively.
- Once a player has completed his/her own game, he/she may either watch the opponent play, leave the game, or start another.
- Other players can be invited directly, but opening a private table is not possible.
Rules
Spin7 is a numbers game for 2 players in direct competition. The game is played over 15 rounds. As with the original, each player is shown 4 game cards with boxes numbered between 1 and 99. The objective of the game is to mark as many numbers on the cards as possible to form rows of 5 numbers (horizontally, vertically and diagonally).
Joker
At the start of the game, the player must enter the first “Free Joker” by clicking on a number of his/her choice. The number will then be covered by a yellow point. The player must then mark off the numbers on all four cards that are shown in the two number generators. To do this, the player must find and click on the numbers with coloured circles around them. As with the joker, the numbers will be covered with a yellow point.
If an arrow is shown in the number generators, this is called a “Column Joker“. With the “Column Joker” the player can mark off any number that is directly above the arrow (in the same column) on either the top or bottom card. To do this, the player need only click on the number of his/her choice and it will be marked with a yellow point.
Spin
Once the player has completed these moves, he/she must click the blinking “Spin” button. This generates the next set of numbers and the process is repeated. If the player does not wish to click the “Spin” button after every round, the “Autospin” function can be activated.
Patterns
On each game card there are both light and dark boxes. The dark boxes on each card form a particular shape. If the player managers to mark all of the dark boxes on one card, extra points are awarded.
To make it easier for the player to see how many numbers are still to be covered to complete a pattern, the hint “Pattern: 4” for example shall appear next to the appropriate game card when only four numbers of the pattern remain unmarked. This will count down as each number is marked off until the pattern is completed.
Extra points are awarded if all of the numbers on a game card are marked off.
The objective of the game is to mark as many numbers on the cards as possible to form rows of 5 numbers (horizontally, vertically and diagonally). The winner is the player who reaches the highest point total. The game ends once the last number has been marked in the 15th round.
Points
On each game card there are both light and dark boxes. For marking a light box, 5 points are awarded, and 10 points are awarded for a dark box.
If the player manages to get 5 yellow points in a row (horizontally, vertically or diagonally), 50 points are awarded.
Extra points are awarded as follows:
The dark boxes on each card form a particular shape. If the player managers to mark all of the dark boxes on one card, 500 extra points are awarded.
If the player manages to mark all of the numbers on a card, 300 extra points are awarded.
